Notice the Habit Behind the Distraction

Distractions can become a pattern. Noticing the pattern gives you something specific to change.

Sometimes we describe ourselves as easily distracted without looking at what keeps pulling our attention away. Is the phone always within reach? Do we begin without deciding what needs to be finished? Does a difficult part of the task send us looking for something easier? I think a specific pattern is more useful to examine than a discouraging label. Change one cue, one routine, or one expectation. Then notice whether it helps.
