Question a Limit Before You Make It Your Rule

Before accepting a limit, ask whether it comes from present facts or an old assumption.

Some limits deserve respect. We have responsibilities, resources, abilities, and conditions to consider. But some limits began as a disappointing experience or a conclusion someone else handed us. I think it is useful to know the difference. What evidence supports the limit you are describing? Has anything changed? Could you approach the goal another way? You do not have to deny reality to discover that an old rule may no longer fit your life.
